Expulsion

Expulsion is a disciplinary action taken by the Valley Elementary School Administration and the Pike County Board of Education which denies the student the opportunity to continue the education process under Valley Elementary jurisdiction. The following procedures will be initiated:

 

1. Informal hearing convened by principal/assistant principal (dean of students) to determine the validity of the charge against the student.

 

2. If evidence indicates the student committed the offense, the student is given a pre-expulsion suspension.

 

3. A conference will be held with the principal and the DPP to explore the alternatives to the expulsion. If expulsion is recommended, the case will be referred to the Superintendent.
