Suspension Procedures

A principal, assistant principal (dean of students), or head teacher, as a last result, may suspend a student for offenses as outlined in the Disciplinary Responses to Student Misconduct in this code.

 

1. Short-term suspension: 1-5 days, referred to the Assistant Principal (dean of students) or Principal or disposition.

 

2. Long-term suspension: 6-20 days, requires consultation and approval of the Superintendent and referred to the Principal for disposition,

 

3. Students on suspension are prohibited from participating in any school event. Violations of the conditions of suspensions shall cause further disciplinary actions to be taken.

 

4. Students of out-of-school suspension shall not be allowed to make-up any school work assigned or due during the suspension period

.
